An event venue like no other! The Sunsphere was built to serve as the symbol of the 1982 World’s Fair. It’s a 266′ high hexagonal steel truss structure with a 75′ gold colored glass sphere that has a 360 degree view of Knoxville and the Smoky Mountains. Parking is conveniently located 1 block away in the Locust Street garage. Our Sunsphere Events team is here to help make your special day just that…EXTRAORDINARY!
Our 6th Floor seats 180 and can hold 350 standing, with 3 flat screens, computer hookups, stereo, usb player, wireless mic, wifi and stand up podium.
Our 8th Floor seats 80 and can hold 150 standing, with 1 flat screen, computer hookups, stereo, usb player, wireless mic, wifi and stand up podium.

Do we allow outside food vendors or guest provided catering?
We allow caterers from our approved list with an added fee of $500.00. Our partnered caterer, Rosa’s Catering, can provide a “one stop shop!”
Are we allowed to purchase our own alcohol in bulk?
We do allow clients to bring in their own alcohol. We require Rosa’s Catering’s bartending staff to serve these spirits. We can also offer clients full bar services.
What is the difference in bar services available?
Open/Host Bar: Client purchases alcohol in bulk independently and delivers to venue.
Cash Bar: Client's guests purchase individual drinks from the Bar Service - individually, per drink. Bar Service supplies all alcohol.
Open/Client Tally Bar: Client hires Rosa’s Catering to provide all alcohol and any item associated with bar service. The bartenders will "tally" each of the client’s guests' drinks and charge the host at the end of the event.
How long is an event rental?
Rentals are quoted for a three hours event time. Two hours are provided prior to the event time for set up. One hour is provided after event time for teardown.
Can we add on time to our rental?
Additional event time can be added for $375.00/hr. Additional set up/teardown time may be added for $65.00/hr., but must be scheduled at least 14 business days prior to your event.
What does set up & breakdown mean? Do we have to set up tables and chairs, and break down after?
Set up & break down time simply means your group’s own personal decor/belongings as well as any vendors. Our staff will have the tables and chairs in place and ready at the time of your load in, and will break down said tables and chairs after your event.
What are the bartending service fees?
Beer, wine and Champagne service is $225.00 per 150 guests. Any bar providing sprits is $295.00 per 150 guests
